Chapter 14: No Regrets
That night, I dreamed of what happened after I died.
After I stabbed Rachel, she was rushed to Cedars-Sinai. Outside the ER, Tyler grabbed Nathan: "You said you’d protect her—"
Nathan shook him off. "I already agreed to share her. Without me, you’d never have touched the Thompson fortune. Don’t get greedy."
Tyler staggered, ready to argue, but stopped.
Nathan’s voice was ice: "Yes, my sister helped you—but she’s dead. You arranged the acid attack, remember? I saw the Venmo."
Tyler fell silent. The ER light flashed red. Rachel was wheeled out—"The patient isn’t out of danger yet…"
Tyler looked at her pale face, trembling. Then he said, steady as stone: "I haven’t forgotten. And I have no regrets."
I woke up shaking, retching over the toilet. Staring into the mirror at my bloodshot eyes, I whispered, "No regrets? Fine. This time, you’ll regret everything."
